Email System Overview
BeDevs sends you email notifications about important platform events to keep you informed about:
- Application Activity - When recruiters respond to your applications or candidates apply to your jobs
- Profile Performance - Weekly and monthly analytics summaries about your profile or job posts
- Platform Updates - When your availability status is about to expire
- Team Collaboration - Organization membership changes and team updates
- Communication - Reminders about unread messages from other users
Types of Email Notifications
BeDevs organizes email notifications into 6 categories that you can control individually. All notifications are enabled by default, but you can turn off any category you don't want to receive.
For Job Seekers
1. Analytics Digest
What you receive: Weekly and monthly summaries of your profile performance, including:
- Profile views from recruiters
- Search appearances in recruiter searches
- Application activity and trends
When it's sent: Weekly summaries every Monday, monthly summaries on the 1st of each month
Sample content: "Your profile was viewed 12 times this week by recruiters from 8 different companies..."
2. Application Updates
What you receive: Notifications when recruiters interact with your job applications:
- Application status changes (reviewing, interviewing, accepted, rejected)
- New conversations started by recruiters after accepting your application
When it's sent: Immediately when recruiters take action on your applications
Sample content: "Great news! Your application for Senior Developer at TechCorp has been accepted..."
3. Availability Reminders
What you receive: Notifications when your availability status is about to expire:
- Reminders sent before your current status expires
- Helps you keep your profile up-to-date for recruiters
When it's sent: Automatically when your availability status is nearing expiration
Sample content: "Your availability status is about to expire. Update it to stay visible to recruiters..."
4. Organization Updates
What you receive: Information about organization membership changes (if you're also a recruiter):
- Added to new organizations
- Role changes within organizations
- Removed from organizations
When it's sent: When organization membership changes occur
5. Unread Message Reminders
What you receive: Weekly reminders about unread messages in your inbox:
- Summary of unread conversations
- Encourages timely responses to maintain professional relationships
When it's sent: Weekly on Sundays if you have unread messages
For Recruiters
1. New Job Applications
What you receive: Immediate notifications when candidates apply to your job postings:
- Candidate name and key qualifications
- Links to review the full application
- Job post details
When it's sent: Immediately after a candidate submits an application

2. Analytics Digest
What you receive: Weekly and monthly performance reports for your job posts:
- Job post view counts and engagement
- Application conversion rates
- Top-performing positions
When it's sent: Weekly summaries every Monday, monthly summaries on the 1st of each month
3. Organization Updates
What you receive: Notifications about your organization's team changes:
- New team members added
- Member role changes
- Team member removals
When it's sent: When organization membership changes occur
4. Application Updates
What you receive: Updates about application status changes you've made (for record-keeping)
5. Availability Reminders
What you receive: Not applicable for recruiters
6. Unread Message Reminders
What you receive: Weekly reminders about unread messages from job seekers and team members
Managing Your Email Preferences
Accessing Email Settings

Simple Toggle System:
- ON (Enabled) - You'll receive all emails in this category
- OFF (Disabled) - You won't receive any emails in this category
No Partial Settings: The system uses a straightforward approach - each category is either completely on or completely off. There are no frequency controls or timing options within categories.
Default Settings: All email categories are enabled by default when you create your account. This ensures you don't miss important notifications while you're learning the platform.
Saving Changes
- Toggle the categories you want to enable or disable
- Click "Save Changes" to apply your preferences
- Confirmation - You'll see a success message when settings are saved
- Immediate Effect - Changes take effect immediately for future emails

BeDevs emails come from these verified addresses:

Automatic Language Detection:
- Emails are sent in your account language (English or French)
- Language is set in your profile settings
